The Power of Ericksonian Hypnosis in a Growth Oriented Group:
Ego Strength and Connectedness Trance-formed
This experiential group will focus on the way Ericksonian hypnosis employed in a growth group can strengthen curative factors and elicit ego strength. Participants will explore two modular coping schemas that integrate mindfulness, psycho-education and features of Ericksonian hypnosis such as modes of induction and “orienting-toward” to potentiate psychosocial outcomes.
This workshop can be presented as a combination of didactic and experiential components, or within a group model in order to allow participants to experience the value of working within this type of setting.
In this presentation hypnotic induction will be used to demonstrate its use as a catalyst for the development of cohesion, hopefulness and other curative features of a group, as well as to elicit greater resilience and coping skill aspects of ego strength development. Discussion will be used to help reinforce the growth of the members.
